Age UK Sheffield work to help older people retain their independence and get the most out of life in Sheffield, particularly those who are vulnerable or isolated.

An Independent Living Co-ordination (ILC) service. This is a three-month package tailored to help you and your family to achieve your independence needs. This includes aids and adaptations for your home, increased benefits where eligible, or connecting you up to local activities and transport. They also offer hospital discharge and stroke services.

Age UK Sheffield provide a range of services for people living with dementia and their family carers. These include:

The Dementia Advice service which can signpost the best source of information to meet specific needs, including resources and services in your local community. Rosemary Memory Cafes run by Age UK Sheffield are free to attend for both people who are experiencing some memory loss, or have a diagnosis of mild to moderate dementia, and their family members, carers and friends.

The Young Onset Hub is for people 65 or under & living with or affected by young onset dementia or memory problems. They offer a monthly peer-support group and a twice-monthly friends and family support group.

There are also various events and activities throughout the week including free “walk and talk” casual social meetings with refreshments provided for people aged 75 and over.
