Activities for the elderly in Manchester

Here are a few ideas for some more unusual activities for the elderly in the Manchester area.

The Bridgewater Hall Singers offer a chance to perform, link to other choirs or just sing for pleasure.

Their age friendly singing group, led by Simply Singing, meet most Wednesdays. Everyone is welcome – with no auditions and no need to read music.

  

The Elders Company at the Royal Exchange Theatre have a wide range of activities for elderly people. "The Elders is for older people to feel connected, be creative and challenge the stereotypes of ageing."

 

Gorton Monastery Music Cafés are for people living with dementia, their family and carers to make music, have fun together and meet new friends.

 

The events are held every Wednesday morning from 17th January 2024 (except 24th April).

 

The Whitworth also has a range of arts and cultural activities for older people aged 50+.

 

Manchester Libraries are also a great place to meet new people and learn something new.
